Tampa Fishing Charters

Tampa Bay is the largest open-water estuary in Florida. It is almost 400 square miles of fishing paradise! Hillsborough, Manatee, and Pinellas counties border it's mangrove lined shores. More than 100 tributaries flow into Tampa Bay, including dozens of meandering, brackish-water creeks and four major rivers -- the Hillsborough, Alafia, Manatee and Little Manatee. All of which harbor some of Florida's most sought after game fish.  Tampa Bay is home to more than 200 species of fish, including snook, redfish, trout, and tarpon. Tampa Bay only averages 12 feet in depths so it is a haven for shallow water fishing enthusiasts.

Tampa if a great place to take a fishing vacation. Tampa is conveniently located to some of Florida's best beaches, it has some great hotels, world class dining, and it's just a short drive to Disney and Busch Gardens. So if your family isn't into fishing, there's plenty for them to do while your on a Tampa fishing charter. If the family would enjoy some time on the water, then a Tampa Fishing charter (before or after seeing the sites and visiting the amusement parks) is just what you need.

A typical fishing charter in the Tampa Bay area will start when you are picked up at the dock. Capt. Clay will already have been out catching bait (unless you asked to go catch bait with the captain) and then you're off to the fishing grounds. Being that Tampa Bay is such a shallow estuary, you will be targeting shallow water species. Redfish schools roam the shallow flats, snook patrol the beaches, trout hang out in potholes and tarpon can be found near the area bridges and in open water. Depending on the time of year, your fishing charter in Tampa Bay will be spent wrestling with one or more of these species of fish.

Once back at the dock, should you have chosen to keep a few fish for dinner, Capt. Clay will gladly clean and bag your catch for you.

If you're visiting the Tampa Bay area, a Tampa Fishing Charter should not be missed.
