Tarpon Springs Fishing Charters

Tarpon springs was named after the Majestic Tarpon that cruises it's beaches in the summertime. They are a beautiful fish and a wonderful fighter when hooked. They can weigh anywhere from 20lbs to 200lbs and they are aerial fighters, meaning that they leap from the water during the fight. Tarpon Springs also gets it name from the many freshwater springs that dot the area. Some of which well up in the saltwater flats. There are a few that are hundreds of feet deep and they can be viewed by boat if you'd like to go see them.

Known for it's crystal clear water, the shallow water grass flats in Tarpon Springs provide awesome fishing opportunities year-round. When on fishing charters in Tarpon Springs, we target redfish, snook, sea trout, tarpon, mackerel and more. The shallow water grass flats are fished year round and the beaches are fished throughout the summer.

There are three major barrier islands within easy reach of a Tarpon Springs Fishing Charter. Anclote Key, Three Rooker Bar, and Honeymoon Island; all of which have beautiful beaches and for the most part are uninhabited. These barrier islands are where we fish for tarpon and snook in the summertime. And on the occasional fishing charter in Tarpon Springs we also come across a few cobia cruising the beach. They're a welcome treat.

Tarpon Springs is also home to some of the best summertime shark fishing. Tarpon Springs has annual migrations of sharks with schools of sharks numbering in the thousands. The schools of sharks during the migration can be so large that they can be seen from the sky by airplanes and helicopters.

If you're in the Tampa Bay area for a visit, a Tarpon Springs fishing charter should not be missed. Charters can be for 4, 6, and 8 hours and in the spring, summer, and fall we can even take a break during full day fishing charters to have a picnic lunch on the beach.
